MEDITATION FOR HEALING
This meditation for healing couldn't have come at a better time. It was filmed our first morning feeling better after a 48 hour bug picked up in Tasmania that had left us unable to move beyond the confines of our room. Feeling better, we rose early with the sun, filming this meditation just as the birds were singing and one of the great cities of the world, Sydney, Australia, stirred to life behind us.
RA MA DA SA MEDITATION: WHY I LOVE IT
I love it because the sounds are like reflections on water and that purity of light and vibration can be felt washing away any dis-ease residing in my body, my emotions and any facet of my being. It helps me to fully release, let go and surrender to a greater healing force so that my body can rejuvenate, revitalize and come back into harmony.
RA MA DA SA MANTRA (PHONETICALLY)
Raa Maa Daa Saa,
Saa Say So Hang
HEALING MEDITATION POSTURE
Sit in Easy Pose (on the floor, legs crossed - or a comfortable variation for your body) with spine straight and neck locked lightly (as though there's a wall directly behind your body and you're leaning spine and back of the head in a long line against it).
Tuck elbows comfortably against ribs. Extend forearms at 45 degrees away from body. Palms are flat and facing up, with the wrists pulled back, fingers together and thumbs spread. Try to keep the palms flat throughout the meditation.
Practice this meditation for 11 to 31 minutes.
INSTRUCTIONS OF RA MA DA SA MEDITATION
* Notes below from The Aquarian Teacher by Yogi Bhajan
Pull in the navel point powerfully on SO and HANG. That that HANG is not long and drawn out; rather, clip it off forcefully as you pull in the navel.
Chant one complete cycle of the entire mantra, then inhale deeply before repeating. Let your mind concentrate on the qualities evoked by the combination of sounds.
To finish inhale deeply and hold your breath as you offer a healing prayer, visualizing the person (including yourself) you wish to heal. Visualize that person as totally healthy, radiant and strong. Imagine the person completely engulfed in a healing white light, completely healed. Then exhale. Inhale to hold the breath, again visualizing your healing prayer. As you exhale this second time, lift arms up high and vigorously shake your hands and fingers.
